INEQUALITY BEYOND GDP: A LONG VIEW

This paper addresses international inequality in multidimensional well-being during the last one-and-a-half centuries. Inequality fell health and education since late 1920s, due to globalization of mass schooling diffusion transition, but only dropped population-weighted terms from 1970 onward for political civil liberties, as emergence authoritarian regimes increased its dispersion end World War I.
